C-Bus by Chris Shaw Swanson

  • The Barbershop Theater 4003 Indiana Avenue Nashville United States (map)

DIRECTED BY HANNAH DEWING

Olivia quit her job teaching preschool to become an actor, giving herself a year to make it as a professional in Columbus, Ohio—a.k.a. “C-Bus.” Inspired by his kid sister, Olivia’s hotdog-vending brother Ralph hitchhikes from Los Angeles to C-Bus in the hope of achieving show biz fame himself. Their triumphs and setbacks fuel this comedy which speaks to the significance of healthy family ties, personal integrity and environmental protection. The play takes a few swipes at today’s commercial and industry advertisers, too, while celebrating the power and sheer joy of creativity.
